![]() ![]() During her undergraduate work she had the opportunity to intern both at Dance Magazine in Manhattan and Dance/USA in Washington D.C. in Musical Theater Performance and a minor in dance. In the spring of 2008 Malerie graduated from Wagner College with a B.A. However, the lights of New York City beckoned and at 18, she moved to the “Big Apple”. Madson grew up in Tempe, AZ and became a Royal Academy of Dance Majors Member. Teddy adores the community at CIVA l and always looks forward to another year of music-making with everyone! Rock climbing is one of his favorite past times, along with camping, hiking, writing, volunteering in the community, and gardening. Teddy previously directed the Sonic Harvest New Music Chamber Orchestra in Northern Colorado - an ensemble that recorded and performed music made specifically by living composers. He plays and performs on the clarinet with the Woodland Park Wind Symphony and on trombone with the New Horizons Symphonic Band. In May of 2023, he had the wonderful opportunity to perform "Carmina Burana" with the UNC Choirs at Carnegie Hall in NYC. His primary instruments are the clarinet and saxophone, although he also has experience singing in choirs. He has an undergraduate degree in K-12 Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado where he performed in their nationally recognized Wind Ensemble. This internship took place right as the pandemic began in March 2020 a baptism by fire into the world of teaching. ![]() Teddy joined the CIVA family in 2021 after his internship with the previous music teachers. It has been amazing seeing CIVA grow over these past thirteen years (including getting top scores on standardized testing and the SAT in the district), and I'm extremely excited to see how we can continue to grow moving forward." “I don't think I could give a better compliment to nor express my faith in CIVA any better than by the fact that it's the school I chose for my own kids. Dineen actually made his first contact with Headmaster Zimmerman as a parent rather than as a potential employee, and now has a CIVA graduate as well as a junior enjoying her third year at CIVA. His bachelor's degree in English education and his Master's degree in religious education make him qualified for the job, but he feels, and many of his students throughout his career have validated, that it is his creativity, humor, and concern for the student as an individual that makes him most effective in his job. Dineen has filled many roles: from teaching music and directing musicals to coaching multiple sports to his current roles in the English and social studies departments. Going into the fourteenth year of his CIVA career, Mr. ![]() Sean Dineen Social Studies/English Teacher He uses proven and innovative educational practices in order to prepare our students for the rigors of college, and life. This is his sixth year with CIVA Charter School where he teaches United States history, European history, and Global Politics, employing his rich life experiences and passion for history, teaching, and world affairs. In 2016 he finished a postgraduate degree in Education from Colorado Mesa University and moved to Colorado Springs. He moved to the United States in 2004 and spent the following 12 years in Aspen, CO where he developed an appreciation for the beauty and lifestyle of Colorado. In 2002 he moved to Italy and graduated from the University of Bologna with M.A. He studied International Relations at the University of National and World Economy and pursued his first Master's degree in European Studies at New Bulgarian University. Krasen Daskalov is from Sofia, Bulgaria where he graduated from the Spanish Language High School “Miguel de Cervantes” in 1996. They are very glad to be able to incorporate some of these passions into extracurricular activities for CIVA's student body such as lightsaber club. Daly enjoys a wide variety of hobbies including: chess, rock climbing, lightsaber choreography, musical theatre, dungeons & dragons, and video games. No, the most important thing is teaching students how to think for themselves and embrace the learning process that creates lifelong growth. Daly believes the most important thing that they can teach the students of CIVA is not in the books that are read, the vocabulary that is memorized, or even the skills that are learned, though these are all important. Daly gets to share their love of language in all its forms and expressions, and help students to not only learn the content but to also learn how to teach themselves and grow in their own personal studies. CIVA provides an educational experience that escapes the common pitfalls of public education that kept Daly away from teaching for so long. Daly is currently in their second year teaching at CIVA and is happy to be a part of this wonderful learning community. ![]()
